What to Know While Visiting the United States

Visa Requirements:Make sure you have a valid US visa (such as B1/B2) and a passport with at least 6 months’ validity. Keep printed and digital copies of your visa approval, hotel bookings, and return flight tickets.
The United States is massive, with major destinations spread across long distances. Don’t try to cover too many cities in one visit. Plan your trip based on regions—East Coast, West Coast, South, or Midwest—to save time and travel costs.
Weather:Climate can vary significantly from one region to another.
- New York & Chicago: Cold winters
- Florida & California: Warm year-round
- Texas & Nevada: Hot summers
Currency:The official currency is the US Dollar (USD). Cards and digital payments are widely accepted everywhere, but carrying small amounts of cash is useful for tips, local shops, and transportation.
Transportation:Public transportation varies by city. New York, Chicago, Boston: Excellent public transit, Los Angeles, Miami, Houston: Better with Uber or rental cars, Domestic flights are common for long distances.
Language:English is the official language and widely spoken. You’ll also hear a variety of accents and slang (often called Aussie English).
Healthcare Is ExpensiveMedical care in the US is costly. Always travel with international health insurance to avoid high medical expenses during emergencies.
Mobile SIM & Internet:Buy a local SIM card from providers like AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon for better connectivity. Public Wi-Fi is available in hotels, malls, and airports.
